Tipperary Energy Agency, Vivid Edge and Technological University of the Shannon, supported by the EU LIFE Programme through the TRESS project is collaborating with Local authorities and Public Bodies in the Atlantic Seaboard South CARO and Tipperary to accelerate the retrofitting of 25 public buildings in the region. TRESS created a prioritisation framework for retrofitting buildings in the region, taking into account carbon reduction and energy efficiency targets and complete investment grade audits of 25 buildings including a financing and procurement strategy, encompassing self-financed, public and private financing options. The project team created a suite of best practice guidelines, which have been adopted nationally and a suite of capacity building modules for public and private sector professionals on delivering and financing the retrofit of public buildings at scale.
