This course is designed to upskill the construction industry in the requirements of deep home renovation in Ireland. It focuses on all aspects of upgrading the building fabric - including walls, floors, roofs, ventilation, airtightness, and moisture control - to meet modern performance standards.
It does not cover heating systems (you can explore our dedicated heating systems course here). Instead, the emphasis is on understanding the regulatory requirements, technical considerations, and best‑practice methods needed to deliver high‑quality, low‑energy home upgrades.
Learning Objectives
Recommend Effective Upgrade Measures
Understand how to assess Irish homes and recommend appropriate upgrade measures that meet regulatory, thermal, moisture, space, and cost requirements.
Identify Construction Types
Learn to recognise common Irish construction types and determine the most suitable upgrade strategies for each building form.
Improve Ventilation & Air Quality
Gain the skills to assess, design, and implement airtightness and ventilation improvements that enhance indoor air quality and reduce energy use.
CPD Accreditation
The course is CPD accredited by Engineers Ireland and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
