Overview
JK Brackens GAA Club upgraded its clubhouse with a full package of heating, ventilation, insulation and lighting measures. TEA helped the club move from an underperforming building to a space that could be used comfortably throughout the year.
The challenge
The clubhouse had no central heating, poor hot water supply and limited winter usability. That reduced its value as a meeting and events space and restricted the wider benefit the club could get from the building.
How TEA supported the project
TEA completed an energy audit, identified the required measures and supported the funding route through LEADER and the Better Energy Communities scheme. The final package addressed both fabric and services to improve overall performance.
What was delivered
- Air-to-air heating system with calorifier and heat pump combination
- LED lighting upgrade
- New roof, wall insulation, floor insulation, windows and doors
- Demand-controlled ventilation
- Funding and project management support
Results and impact
The measures delivered savings of 7,295 kWh per year, worth about €494 annually. The bigger gain was functional: the club now has a bright, warm and comfortable clubhouse that can support meetings, showers, events and year-round use.
Client voice
“Overall, it’s been a great success for us to get everything done in such an efficient manner.”
