Hotel Minella engaged TEA to identify practical upgrades that could cut high energy costs while supporting day-to-day hotel operations. The result was a grant-supported package centred on lighting and solar PV.

The hotel was dealing with high annual energy costs and needed a clear view of which upgrades would deliver value. As with many commercial sites, the priority was to reduce bills without disrupting the customer experience.

TEA completed an energy audit to determine the upgrades most likely to reduce demand and improve energy performance. TEA also supported access to grant funding through the Better Energy Communities programme, making the project easier to progress.

The owner reported visible savings from the LED lighting and expected summer electricity value from the PV system in the range of €9,000 to €12,000. The project offers a strong hospitality-sector example of targeted energy measures backed by a clear business case.

"The LED lighting outside, there’s a big saving on. I’ve seen it in the bills.”

Planning a similar project? TEA can help assess the opportunity, shape the right solution, and support delivery from concept to completion.
